The Change Their World Campaign is the flagship fundraising initiative of the AKS Lytham Foundation. Our goal is clear and ambitious – to raise £1.6 million to fund 10 transformational, means-tested bursaries covering Senior School through to Sixth Form, for talented local students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to access an AKS education.
The GameChanger campaign is a key part of this wider mission. It focuses specifically on funding fully supported bursaries for talented young athletes – enabling them to thrive both in the classroom and through sport.
Whether you choose to support GameChanger or the broader Change Their World bursary fund, your gift helps us widen access, unlock potential and change lives.
Please note: Monthly donations may also be made to the main Change Their World Bursary Fund, which supports transformational bursaries beyond sport – including academic, music, and drama scholars.
This allows donors to contribute to the overall mission of broadening access to an AKS education, regardless of the student's area of talent.

“The opportunity to attend AKS with the support of the bursary has provided a multitude of benefits. It has given me access to excellent resources that wouldn’t have been accessible previously. It has allowed me to receive excellent teaching, where I am constantly supported by my teachers through them regularly checking up on me during lessons, and assisting me outside of lesson with any further help I need. It has also allowed me to develop socially, through my involvement in many different clubs and initiatives, and allowed me to form many new friendships and develop close bonds.
The financial support I have received to attend AKS has allowed me to flourish academically and personally, and pursue my future passions where I too hope to make a change in someone’s life.”

“Over my first year at AKS I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and am looking forward to Year 13. Initially the thought of starting a new school where most of the faces were new was going to be quite scary with friendship groups already established over many years; however, once I arrived I found it quite easy to find my footing and feel accepted into Sixth Form as one of their own.
One of my highlights of the year was the London trip getting to spend time with new friends out in the city as well as the tourist attractions, the trip to Les Misérables being an unexpected joy.
On the academic side, I find the teachers to be very supportive and always available to help wherever possible. After an initial rocky start to one of my subjects both of my teachers were there and able to support me and get me back on track to where I wanted to be.
Overall, AKS has been a joy to attend, and I look forward to next year with open eyes hoping it’s just as good or even better, than the year just passed.”
